Utku Tamer successfully graduated as the top student from the Composition Department of the Faculty of Art and Design at Nişantaşı University. He studied classical guitar with Hande Cangökçe, opera and vocal training with Kaan Buldular, and jazz guitar and improvisation with Şevket Akıncı.

Under the guidance of Nail Yavuzoğlu, he studied music theory, classical harmony, counterpoint, orchestration and instrumentation, jazz harmony, modern harmony, and Turkish music theory. Interested in a wide range of musical genres, from black metal to jazz, Utku Tamer plays electric guitar, fretless guitar, bass guitar, piano, and has a basic proficiency in the tanbur.

He is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Music Theory and Composition at Istanbul Technical University’s Turkish Music State Conservatory. Utku Tamer continues his career as a composer and instrumentalist.
